Curiosity motivates me.
As a dynamic editor and writer I have a passion for glamping in Mexico, exploring Istanbul, warrior two pose, farm-to-table dining, wine tasting in Sonoma, hiking through Northern California, and baking one-of-a-kind wedding cakes.
And I still meet every deadline.

Everyone has a story...
Writing is my passion, but I started off making sauces. Trust me, the two are related.
I've always loved the act of creating, anything and everything really, and for awhile I thought that I might enjoy professional cooking. I took a break from writing and editing to attend culinary school in Chicago. I spent my days in class exploring the finer details of French cuisine and burned through my nights practicing the brunoise. I excelled at sauces, which require a very specific type of delicate patience. Don't believe me? Go ahead and make a hollandaise, then look away for a moment. Your sauce will break. They are fickle, and if you'll allow me to briefly personify them, I think they enjoy it.
My affinity for sauces was not really about sauces. It was about the specific patterns and execution they require. This same methodical, creative style is what good editors and writers possess. We are a certain breed of person; the kind that enjoy uncovering dangling modifiers and rewriting sentences so that they don't just convey information, but sing.
I tap into that same passion with everything that I do – not just making sauces. This attention to detail and creative license has served me well, both professionally and personally. Whether in graduate school, teaching liberal arts, navigating corporate promotions, and balancing freelance or hiking, practicing yoga, writing and dancing ballet, I find myself curious to learn and eager to apply what I already know.
I'd like to think that life isn't as delicate as a sauce, but I don't plan to look away long enough to find out. Not even for just a moment.
